The ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has taken a swipe at DP William Ruto over his promises on agricultural sector.
While launching his manifesto, DP Ruto pledged to revive agriculture, a claim that Sifuna says was hypocritical owing to the fact that he messed up the sector when he was minister for agriculture.
Owing to the fact that agriculture is the backbone of Kenya’s economy, DP Ruto has revealed that Kenya Kwanza government will focus on reviving agriculture in order to increase food production and create more job opportunities for Kenyans. This will also translate to development of local industries.
“Ruto misdiagnosed the problems in the Agriculture sector then proposed the wrong remedies. We must deal with CORRUPTION in the sector. Its the sole reason farmers were demoralized and stopped planting. Its why dams for irrigation never took off. Its why Galana failed,” Sifuna said.
