Salim Swale, an NTV Swahili presenter, exposed Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Oduor alias Jalang’o for turning down a radio interview.
The politician missed the interview despite having confirmed his participation, the media personality said as he concluded his news program.
The station communicated its surprise and disappointment in the former radio personality through Swale.
Jalang’o neglected to attend the program or offer an explanation or apology, the speaker observed.
“As you know, every Wednesday we usually invite our leaders on this programme so that they can answer your questions on matters leadership but with great surprise new Lang’ata MP Felix Oduor aka Jalang’o has not honoured our invitation despite confirming his attendance without sending an apology. These are leaders we have elected and given the responsibilities which they can’t come here and explain to us,” Swale said.
Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans:
@YussufIbra: “Going MIA on a show after confirming attendance and without apologies or proper communication is just being careless and selfish.”
@KosutEdward: “He has started snubbing such opportunities, how will they handle issues ya constituency yake.”
@irushiscky: “Ni kiburi na kujiona sana, Sasa kuja kwa TV kujibu maswali mbili tatu ni kitu ya kuringa. Bure sana huyo kijana.”
@JohnLin81325081: “Why does Salim make it sound like Jalang’o’s appearance was an entitlement?”
@cavin_1996: “Wacheni kublackmail @JalangoMwenyewe. Alichaguliwa na wana Langata sio na media house. He has jobs to do not to be a media personality.”
