A diligent woman who is committed to continuing her studies at all costs has gone back to school.
In order to advance her education, the mother of seven enrolled in Grade 3 at Loikas Primary School in Samburu county.
According to Ngelemo Leleruk, she went back to school because her friends were more educated and had better lives.
“My peers are educated and are far ahead in life. I have come to study and gain knowledge just like them,” she told Citizen TV Kenya.
The mother, 31, was married off at the age of 13, which prevented her from studying when she was younger.
She has given birth to seven children in her 18 years of marriage, who she raises with her devoted husband.
Thomas Leleruk, the husband of Leleruk, expressed his happiness and encouraged his wife to pursue her desire to return to school.
Leleruk, who is more than 20 years older than her peers, was lauded by her teacher, Rose Wamoyo.
“She’s a woman hungry for education. She asks questions and is willing to learn,” she disclosed.
Leleruk, who spent most of her life caring for cattle and raising her kids, encouraged women to seek education, adding she returned to school to better her family.
“I would like to urge women and mothers, most importantly, those who are at home and are not educated to return to school and study. Let them get jobs and even degrees,” she stated.
