Ndindi Nyoro, the MP for Kiharu, asserted that his Facebook account had been compromised.
Nyoro has stated that attempts are being made to retrieve it from the unidentified hackers in a post on his X page.
“My Facebook page was hacked yesterday. We are trying to resolve the problem,” he wrote.
Nyoro, the the National Assembly’s Budget and Appropriations Committee chair last posted on the page Monday morning conveying a New Year message to Kenyans.
“Wishing you all a prosperous New Year, 2024. Nawatakia baraka tele mwaka mpya. We are African and Africa is our Business,” the post reads.
The page currently has 562, 000 followers.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has confirmed this claiming the hackers are now soliciting money while purporting to be the legislator.
“Hon Ndindi Nyoro’s Facebook account has been hacked and hackers are inboxing me to send them money,” he said.
Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi has on his part urged Kenyans to ignore the updates and inbox messages being shared by the hackers.
“Please take note that hackers have taken control of the FB profile of Ndindi Nyoro and the official page. We are working to recover and restore the pages,” he said.
