One of individuals who lost their employment at Nation Media Group as the corporation tries to reduce its payroll is prime time news anchor Mark Masai.
Masai, who had worked at the Kimathi Street-based media outlet for 14 years, confirmed the news in an interview with The Sauce, stating that he had a terrific stint there and that it was time to move on.
He continued by saying that the numerous projects he has been engaged in would bring him back into the spotlight.
“This is the reality of the media landscape around the world and unfortunately I was at the losing end of this one. However, this is not the end of my career in the media, I will be back on other platforms. All I have to say is watch this space,” said Masai.
The nostalgic father of two also took to social media to share a short video of his moments on air since his debut in 2008.
The print media department is said to be the worst affected by the culling of the workforce at NMG in a bid to reduce expenditure.
