Kenyan musician Nameless is paying tribute to E-Sir 19 years after his death. The rapper born Issah Mmari died in a road accident today in 2003 at the age of 21.
In May this year, E-Sir would have been 41 years.
Nameless recently teamed up with Nelly the Goon, Trio Mio, Dmore, Habib and more to release a new song called “Bandana ya E-sir.” The song was aimed at celebrating the life of a Kenyan legend and to introduce his legacy to a new generation of artists.
Taking to his Instagram page, Nameless wrote a heartfelt message to a brother and one that was his best friend
“You would have been 41 today. Happy birthday small bro! We all miss you! The young generation continue to be inspired by your legacy!!”
“The older generation continue to celebrate you. I continue to do what you would have done for me. Keep the spirit alive! “
He went on to ask fans to continue streaming E-Sir music.
“Fam help me wish E-SIR our Kenyan Rap ICON a happy birthday and stream his music on all platforms as we celebrate him! Link to his music on my bio. Share your favorite Esir song ! Mine was Mos Mos and Boomba Of course.”
E-Sir died on March 16th 2003 following a road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway on his way back to Nairobi from a concert in Nakuru.
Boomba Train was his last song after releasing hits like Moss Moss, Bamba, Hamnitish, Siu Sare among others.
He is considered one of the most successful rappers in the history of Kenyan hip hop.
