Senator Johnson Sakaja of Nairobi has come out to accuse his political opponents of attempting to sabotage his governorship campaign by burying him in court proceedings over his academic credentials.
Sakaja told supporters at a Kenya Kwanza coalition gathering in Mukuru Kwa Njenga on Tuesday that he has all of the necessary papers to run for the seat, and that his opponents are merely trying to smear his name in order to torpedo his candidacy.
The Senator, who is fighting a petition to prevent him from running for governor, emphasized that he had a genuine degree certificate.
He asserted unequivocally that, despite his opponents’ efforts, he remains faith in God that justice will win and that he would be cleared to run in the August elections.
