How protesters saved MP Jackson Kosgei after being abandoned in Parliament

MP Bishop Jackson Kosgei was left alone during the Occupy Parliament protest on June 25, where at least 5 people were killed and dozens injured.

Despite fearing for his safety, the crowd assured him they wouldn’t harm him.

“Well my experience that I had with them is that um although amid expression of anger, they expressed human face because when they came in they said mzee we know you, where you voted, and we know you, we know you as a good man,” he narrated.

In videos available online, the MP is guided outside by a group who ensure he is safe. He remains thankful for this.

“So they said the question of where you voted and so on is not an issue because now that one tells is a human face, being and so they said we want to help you out because what might happen here may not be good for you,” Kosgei said.

“So then they walked us out with hon colleague called Rose Museo. and we came out that is why they escorted us out.”

“I saw they are our children and the anger that came in I only pray that it is not hijacked by anything else. But it is genuine they need to be listened. That’s why the President took a step and listened to them and stepped down on that issue.”

He also took to his Facebook, to assure of his safety later.

“I’m home, safe and sound; we thank God for He always makes a way where there seems to be no way. Thank you all for your concern and prayers.”
