While preparing for the high cost of living, Nairobi residents are facing yet another increase in the price of water, a vital necessity.
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) had previously revealed plans to increase monthly water costs by 40%.
The tariff review would be based on monthly use, according to a gazette notification from NCWSC, which intends to boost its revenue to KSh 10.68 billion annually.
The action is intended to recoup expenditures, pay off loans, and improve the infrastructure of the business for improved services.
Nairobi residents have till the end of July 2022 to express their opinions on the NCWSC’s intentions to raise fees.
