On Monday, May 2, 2022, a statue of R&B artist Rihanna was unveiled at the Met Gala honors.
The statue depicts the Barbardian singer proudly accepting her first pregnancy.
It was made to look like a photo of Rihanna that appeared in the April 2022 issue of Vogue magazine under the title Oh,Baby! Plus one for Rihanna.
Rihanna captioned a video of the statue’s installation at the Met Museum:
“Shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!”
“The statue of ‘Eirene (The Personification of Peace)’ is usually the highest-profile marble goddess @themetmuseum Greco-Roman galleries. But now we’ve got @badgalriri, straight off this month’s Vogue cover,” Vogue captioned the video.
