A Meru woman described how she was able to construct a home for her neighbor who was residing in a run-down structure.
Mary Nkatha claimed that she had a lucrative business opportunity sometime this year and decided to save the money for a house rather than the customary large church gifts.
In an interview with TUKO, Nkatha said she stopped giving offerings and tithes in church and decided to build a house for her struggling neighbour, a widow.
“After I thought about how pastors are taking advantage of other Kenyans in the name of tithe, I stopped giving in church and instead saved all that money so that I could build a house for my struggling neighbour,” she said.
Nkatha claimed that when the idea struck, she went to the widow who was residing in a shack and expressed her desire to construct her a nicer home. The widow gratefully accepted. Her neighbor is currently living nicely in the finished house.
Nkatha declared that while she would keep attending church, she would no longer provide money to the cause.
