The two identical twins in Mandera with the highest KCPE scores are Ikran and Ucaima Mohamed Maalim.
The two daughters of Mr. Maalim received scores of 402 and 401 in the KCPE results that were announced this morning.
At Mandera East’s Al Huda Integrated Academy, the pair took the national exams.
The two were the most diligent candidates, according to school manager Jamal Abdullahi (Mr. JJ), and they have consistently delivered such brilliant achievements.
“They had always scored the same marks all through their days in primary until now when one defeated the other by just one point”, he said
According to their mother, Amina Musa the fraternal twins whose Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results left many wondering with their mouths wide open were always close friends who took care of each other
“They used to go to school together, read together and always passed their internal school exams with flying colours”, she said on the phone.
“I expected them to score at least above 420 marks but even though, I am delighted they’re the leading girls in Mandera”, she added.
The two pupils were in the same classroom all through primary school and their index numbers followed each other.
Ikran was Index Number one while Umaima was Index Number two.
Ikran and Umaima, the only set of twins in their family wish to join Kenya High in Nairobi for their secondary education.
Ikran wants to pursue medicine later in university, while her sister aspires to be a lawyer.
The two girls were born in 2007 making them the first born in a family of four and with a polygamous father who’s married to two other wives.
In the 2021 KCPE results released on Wednesday, December 21, Some 7,771 Grade six pupils have sat for Kenya Primary Schools Education Assessment (KPSEA) while 6,944 sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations in Mandera.
