It’s not easy to find information on the founder and CEO of Proto Energy Limited, formerly known as My Gas. When Pro Gas was first launched, rumors that the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) corporation belonged to Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua grew quickly and became almost credible. Pro Gas has made its intentions obvious in the Kenyan market with its almost girlish pinkish cylinder, which many customers appreciate due to its cost and availability.
The company’s cylinder is described as follows:
We believe in quality, affordability, reliability, safety, and highest standards that will inevitably grow the market as a whole.

Advice to young entrepreneurs

Controversy
According to a post appearing on 254news, a PR firm contracted by Proto Energy Limited to carry out Pro-Gas marketing campaigns is accused of pocketing money that was meant for promotions late last year. The agreement was that participants with the highest likes in Pro Gas social media pages would be automatically awarded cash prizes and complete gas cylinders. The winners have never been awarded some few months later, atleast according to the blog.
