Comedian Mc Jessey, formally known as Jasper Murume, has conceded defeat in the Imenti South parliamentary seat elections.
Speaking on his Instagram Page, Mc Jessey congratulated Dr. Shadrack Mwiti, whom he termed as a worthy competitor, for leading in the votes.
He also thanked the people of Imenti for voting for and supporting him. He promised them that would still engage with developmental activities of Imenti South as he prepares to run again in the next electioneering period.
He concluded by urging them to maintain peace as the tallying process continue.
The message he wrote read,
“I Sincerely thank you so much for the time we have interacted during our campaign time. It has been a great journey. A journey of amazing political adventure. A journey of daring hearts. We will continue to engage as we look forward to Next time. God willing. I personally want to congratulate my worthy competitor Dr Shadrack as he prepares to be the new Mp for South Imenti. To my supporters, take heart. Ni siasa tu. Lets keep moving SouthImenti as one Great Community.”
Mc Jessey was to run for the seat under the UDA party. However, Deputy President Ruto asked him to step down from the race in favor of Dr. Mwiti. Ruto appointed him to join his campaign communication team.
At first, Mc Jessey had accepted his appointment but later changed his mind and opted to run independently, promising to support Ruto in his bid for the presidential seat.
