Makena Njeri, a well-known actress and journalist, has been honoring their journey and successes throughout their twenties.
They shared a flashback photo of themselves with the no-nonsense Miss Morgan, the deputy headteacher on the local show.
Makena was wearing Tahid High’s school uniform and smiled for the camera with her classmates.
“We were a force! And the character Makena was born. So many doors were opened for me through this gig. I was a student at university at this point btw. Early 20s,” said Makena.
She also remembered working on the film sets and producing different shows, including being nominated for an EMMY while at the BBC.
The TV producer and journalist in March 2021, quit the BBC after working for the media company for three years.
“I have been built as a journalist in a way I never imagined. Challenged to think differently and talk to a global audience in every story I reported on. The next stage is set for my life and I am ready to take up the new challenge. We stay winning and elevating always,” they said.
The multi-talented journalist is the CEO of Bold Network Africa that champions the rights of the gay community in Kenya.
