Maina Kageni, the host of Classic 105’s morning show, claimed that he hasn’t taken a matatu in 26 years.
In a conversation with Mwalimu King’angi during the Kasheshe segment, King’ang’i questioned Maina about the last time he had used a matatu or even walked.
In response, Maina said that he hadn’t walked in a while and hadn’t used a matatu since 1997.
Maina declared that he would be eager to take a matatu soon and travel to any location of his choosing.
“The last time I walked on foot, to where? Let me be honest. I used Matatu the last time in 1997. I need one sacco to volunteer to take me anywhere to Kilimani. Mheshimiwa, Patricia Mutheu, Acting CEO Matatu Owners Association, please organise a sacco,” he said.
King’ang’i then told Maina to try a matatu in a busy route like Githurai for him to have a good experience.
“You had a car in 1997? You will not enjoy going to Kilimani, You need to go to Githurai 45 and give the Makanga 1000 bob so that you see how you will concentrate. You will not let him go,” King’ang’i told Maina.
Maina Kageni is not the only public figure who has not used a matatu for a long period of time.
