Azimio presidential flag bearer, Raila Odinga, is trending for controversial reasons.
On Tuesday 2nd August, Raila was holding a rally in Kimabu when a lady supporter shouted, “I love you!”
The celebrated political leader was amazed by the love and all he could was to reply, “Asante, I love you too.”
Last month, Raila, or Baba as people call him, trended when he was captured dancing suggestively with Congolese legendary singer Mbilia Bel in a political rally. Mbilia had attended the rally to entertain Raila[‘s supporters.
In his defense, Raila explained that Mbilia was his good and long-term friend who had come to the rally to urge his supporter to vote for him in the upcoming elections.
Years ago, Raila also trended controversially after a photo of him and young woman went viral on the internet. Rumors claimed that the woman was Raila’s side chic and they were at a holiday in Zanzibar.
However, the woman, whom we later came to know as Sasha Mbote, came out two months ago on Lynn Ngugi’s show to refute claims that she was involved romantically with Raila. She explained that the photo was innocent as he is a fan of Raila’s and the rumors had made her life a living hell.
Raila’s “I love you too” comes days after President Uhuru Kenyatta had a similar experience. Uhuru was addressing a congregation during the official launch the Nakuru Railway Station when a woman shouted, “I love you!”
The president blushed and responded “I love you too,” leaving the congregation in stitches.
