Bomet County women Rep Linet Chepkorir has finally delivered her first address in the parliament, and she made sure to thank her supporter Gideon Cheruiyot, who was crucial to her campaigning for the seat.
This is not the first time Toto has spoken out strongly about the man who supported her ambition and made extra efforts to make it come true.
“He came to my home and asked me if I was serious with my ambition. He used to come with his boda boda, fuel it with his own money then take me to the field the whole day and return me home,” said Toto in a Nation video.
Parliamentarians nodded in agreement as Toto prayed softly for her benefactor as she delivered her address.
In addition, Toto, a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), thanked her supporters for printing her flyers and praying for her.
“Thank you for believing in me despite my age and status I am here in the 13th parliament to represent your interests,” she said.
Toto is also not blind to the fact that she is the youngest parliamentarian in Kenya and was very categorical that she does not take it for granted.
Two months ago, the youthful politician vowed to uplift the lives of women and youth groups through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
She assured residents she would deliver on her promises so that she could be re-elected again in 2027.
Toto won with a landslide in the Tuesday, August 9 General Election.
“Believing in yourself is very important. Appoint yourself. Never wait to be appointed. Every dream is valid. Everything is possible with God. I am a living testimony,” she said.
