According to media reports, Kimiti Wanjaria with the help of Ian Kahara founded Serene Valley Properties (SVP), a Nairobi-based real estate development firm that builds and sells homes to Kenya’s growing middle class.
Kimiti Wanjaria first made headlines in 2013 when Forbes named him one of Africa’s Top 30 Under 30 entrepreneurs for a multimillion-shilling property investment in Kiambu being developed by a firm in which he had stakes.
To be named to the highly coveted list, applicants must demonstrate that they are game changers and the brightest performers under the age of 30 in business, technology, sports, science, or health.

Kimiti was born and raised in Kenya. By the age of 21, Wanjaria had worked as an insurance broker, in a law firm, and as the manager of an educational institution, The Jossy Schools.
Before investing in Serene Valley Properties Limited with Kahara, he owned other businesses.

At his funeral in Tigoni on Friday, friends and family said he had hit rock bottom and was trying to find himself before returning to the business world. He even had a name for his new company, ‘Silver Hill Investment Limited,’ which he planned to use to resurrect his career.

Serene Valley Properties was co-founded by him. He and his business partner, Ian Kahara, had decided to take on the titans of the capital-intensive real estate industry, doing something unprecedented for people his age.
Serene Valley Properties Limited was built in Kahara’s grandmother four acres of land after they bought from her. 30 homes were built on it for Sh350 million along Waiyaki Way near the Sigona Golf Club.
