Following a shooting incident at a polling place that claimed the life of a rival’s aide, Bungoma police have initiated a manhunt for Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Wekesa Barasa.
His closest challenger, Mr. Brian Khaemba of the DAP-K party, lost a security guard in the 6 o’clock incident at Chebukhwabi Primary School in Kibingei Ward.
Bungoma County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti told the media during a press conference at the Kimilili police station that police are looking for the legislator as a result of the horrific act.
It's unfortunate that during this election time, guns are in wrong hands that have mastered the art of killing innocent people. We call upon @DCI_Kenya, @IG_NPS and @IEBCKenya to hold Didmus Barasa accountable for killing an aide to our candidate Bryan Khaemba. pic.twitter.com/IqWJYAUEVp

“We want him to surrender to police wherever he is and if any member of the public spots him let them alert police,” he said.
