Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has offered to help Kenyan girl who is stranded in Saudi Arabia to return home.
According to reports, Diana Chepkemoi, Meru University student, flew out of the country to Saudi Arabia to work as househelp before being enslaved.
The family of Diana Chepkemoi has since is appealed for assistance from the government to bring her back home.
Photos of the former Meru University student looking haggard went viral and Kenyans called for her to be brought back to the country.
Chepkemoi’s efforts to return home have proved futile over time as her employer continues to detain her, grabbing her passport and phone.
After hearing about the Kenyan’s horrific ordeal in the gulf, Barasa has pitched in, promising to help her move back to Kenya.
“This is a Kenyan girl called Diana Chepkemoi, Meru University student who went to find work in Saudi Arabia. She went healthy, now she is ENSLAVED. See her transformation. Our embassy has her location and employer’s phone but they are sitting pretty waiting for her to die. Am willing to pay for her air ticket. Fred Matiang’i Kenya Airways or anybody who can facilitate getting in touch with me,” he said.
