Kenyans react after Azimio leaders are arrested during protests

Kilifi Senator and Senate Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo, MP Amina Mnyazi, and Ken Chonga have been arrested as the Azimio protests escalate.

In an address to the media, Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna claimed that Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo had been arrested alongside other opposition leaders.
The leaders are being held at the central police station in Nairobi.

In other news, Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has been denied entry to the Kenya International Convention Centre in Nairobi.

Junet arrived at KICC with his footsoldiers only to find the gate closed and a heavy police presence who told him he could not get in.

The vocal lawmaker stood at the gate begging the police to allow him to get in claiming KICC is a public place.

“I want to get in, this is a public place,” Junet told a local media house.
