KTN’s Ken Mijungu bans MP Farah Maalim from ever Appearing on his show

On Tuesday, July 9, KTN Journalist Ken Mijungu declared that Farah Maalim, a member of parliament for Daadab, would no longer be allowed to appear on his show.

This followed the viral video of the lawmaker allegedly ordering President William Ruto to crack down on protesters from Generation Z.

In the translated video, Farah Maalim stated that he would never permit Gen Z to demonstrate against the Finance Bill if he were the president of Kenya.

The lawmaker was seen in the aforementioned video encouraging President William Ruto to adopt an extreme stance regarding the ongoing protests and making comments that appeared to be provocative.

“A lawmaker said this! A seasoned legislator. As a patriotic Kenyan, I will never host him on my show again! Never.”

Maalim defending himself after the video in question went viral, remarked that the video was digitally manipulated describing the entire situation as a political witch-hunt.

“The video making the rounds has been edited. It’s all cutting and pasting, taking a word from here and putting it together,” he defended himself.

Farah Maalim stated that it was likely that the people who edited the clip were from Somalia.

“It is Somalis who basically would do that, for other reasons, because I also weighed in on the politics of Somalia,” the Wiper Party elected legislator claimed.

The parliamentarian acknowledged Gen Z’s potential coup against a democratically elected government, but Ken Mijungu defended his decision not to invite the legislator to KTN studios, stating Standard Group has the right to do so.
