“Kasirika tuone chenye utafanya” KOT laughs off Waiguru’s tweet of being too polite

For the last few weeks, Kirinyaga county governor Anne Waiguru has raised concerns over the massive vandalism of her campaign billboards and other UDA party nominees in the County.

A number of times, Waiguru has come out to accuse her opponents of orchestrating and committing the offences to intimidate UDA party candidates.

Despite all that, the county chief said they will not give in to the intimidations as they are certain of the people’s support.

By the look of things, Waiguru is almost running out of patience. On Wednesday, she shared tweet that raised eyebrows. According to her, she has been too polite and her opponents are taking advantage.

I think when one is too diplomatic they are taken for granted. Politeness is interpreted as cowardice and humility as foolishness. Ni hayo tu kwa sasa …” Waiguru stated.

However, like always, Kenyans on Twitter made a joke out of it.

Here are some of the reactions:

enrikemaxja: Kula ujeuri wako

Wangù Wa Makeri: Una reason kama Oscar Sudi.

Robert kyenze: But you lack BOTH

Jane Kyalo: Never test the strength of a woman.

Saizuh: Kasirika tuone chenye utafanya

Peter ndoli: Kwani unakua mtu wa vitendawili tena? Sema mkuu tukupate, mafumbo magumu hayo.

IEBC Clearance

On June 6, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) cleared Waiguru to defend her seat despite her name being flagged by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Waiguru alongside her running mate Wachira Kithanda, who once served as county speaker Kirinyaga were cleared Monday afternoon to contest in the gubernatorial race.

Waiguru picked Wachira as her running mate after James Kinyua who was initially proposed fail to meet the requirements as he didn’t resign as per IEBC schedule.

The EACC had earlier cautioned the independent body against clearing Waiguru and 240 others for the August polls, saying they either faced graft charges or had their files under scrutiny by the integrity body.

Waiguru said the naysayers should focus on campaign as their hopes are no longer valid. She said she will continue with unfinished projects and initiate news ones.

Silvanus Ndau, who is seeking to unseat Waiguru on KADU Asili Party was also cleared bringing total aspirants to eight.
