After months of speculation, Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has officially confirmed that her relationship with Mugithi singer Samidoh has come to an end.
Rumors of their silent breakup had been circulating, but neither had addressed the matter publicly—until now.
In a recent video, Nyamu is seen conversing with MP Kururia inside a car, where she jokingly states that Samidoh was “fired” from his role as her partner.
“We will go to pay the dowry. He (Kururia) has been advising me a lot, convincing me that it’s not a bad thing. I feel encouraged and excited about a new chapter,” she said.
Kururia encouraged her to make wiser choices in the future. While Nyamu has previously hinted at moving on, she has not disclosed the identity of her new partner.
When Kururia sought clarity on whether Samidoh was originally supposed to handle her dowry negotiations, Nyamu responded:
“That one failed to step up, so we fired him. We can only pity him. You all saw what happened,” she alleged.

A Relationship Marked by Controversy
Nyamu and Samidoh’s relationship has been highly publicized and often controversial. Their affair came to light in 2021, sparking drama as Samidoh was already married to his first wife, Edday Nderitu.
Despite the backlash, Nyamu and Samidoh continued their relationship, and together, they share two children. Their on-and-off dynamic was frequently in the headlines, with Nyamu occasionally making bold statements about their romance.
However, their relationship hit turbulence on several occasions, including a public altercation in Dubai in late 2022. Following the incident, Nyamu vowed to distance herself from Samidoh, though they later rekindled their bond.
Now, with her latest remarks, it appears that Nyamu is finally closing this chapter for good.
Dismissing critics who claim she ignores advice, Nyamu firmly stated:
“I was appointed by the President, and he is the only one I listen to. As for the rest of you, we will meet in 2027.”
