Juja man, Evans Kamau who is accused of killing his wife Esther Nyaga by stabbing her 17 times has been remanded for 10 days.
This is after Kamau who appeared in court on Wednesday pleaded not guilty of committing the murder.
The 37-year-old will remain in police custody until September 8th, 2021.
Kamau is alleged to have committed the heinous act at Everest Estate in Juja, where Esther was living with her three children, on August 8th 2021.
She died while being rushed to Thika Level 5 hospital.
Reports said that the suspect accessed Esther’s house from the back entrance on Sunday night (August 8th) and disconnected power from the main switch.
The 37-year-old then locked Esther in her bedroom where he committed the monstrous act before he ran from the crime scene.
The deceased eldest child, a girl aged 11 sought help from the neighbors who helped in taking Esther to the hospital but she succumbed to her injuries.
Mr. Kamau and Esther, who were blessed with three children, exchanged vows in a church wedding in 2010 but separated in 2019 due to domestic fights.
