William Ruto has been congratulated by Kenya Kwanza’s director of communications Hussein Mohammed for winning the presidency.
Ruto’s dedication to his work is an example to Kenyans, according to a statement released by Hussein on Monday.
“Congratulations President-elect William Ruto, yours is an affirmation that hard work & determination pays and this will forever be an inspiration to all Kenyans, today & in the future. To my beloved countrymen & women, Kenya has won,” he tweeted.
Hussein also gave Rigathi Gachagua his congratulations as the new vice president.
Ruto was named the winner of the election on Monday, according to Wafula Chebukati, chair of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
With 7,176,141 votes, Ruto received 50.49 percent of the vote.
Raila Odinga of Azimio received 6,942,930 votes, or 48.85 percent of the total ballots, making him his closest rival.
