2024 KCSE Results Released: Here’s How to Check Them
The long-awaited Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results for 2024 have been released, providing a moment of anticipation for candidates nationwide.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba announced the release, marking a significant milestone for over 965,000 students who sat for the exams.
To ease the process of accessing the results, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has provided both online and SMS options.

How to Check 2024 KCSE Results Online
Candidates can access their results online through the KNEC portal using these steps:
- Visit the KNEC results website at https://results.knec.ac.ke.
- Enter your 11-digit Index Number and Name(s) as registered for the KCSE exam.
- Click submit, and your results will appear on the screen.
- Save or print a copy for your records.
How to Check 2024 KCSE Results via SMS
Alternatively, you can check your results through SMS:
- Open your phone’s messaging app.
- Type your 11-digit Index Number, followed by the word KCSE (e.g., 12345678910KCSE).
- Send the message to 20076 (standard SMS charges apply).
- Wait for a reply, which will arrive within minutes.
Note: Official result slips will be available at the respective examination centers where candidates took their exams.
KNEC Releases KPSEA Results for Grade 6 Learners
In addition to the KCSE results, KNEC has also published the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) reports for Grade 6 pupils.
Over 1.3 million learners who participated in the exams will transition to Grade 7 at their current primary schools, as stipulated under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
Schools have been directed to access learner-specific KPSEA reports via the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal.
