How the search of missing man led to finding of another man’s body in club’s septic tank
CCTV footage with a time stamp of April 1, Saturday, reveals Emmanuel Omondi’s final moments before he vanished following a night of partying in Nairobi.
In the video that his father Julius Odhiambo was able to secure, Emmanuel was last seen alive in the custody of bouncers at a well-known Nairobi nightclub.
Two bouncers frog-matched Emmanuel out of the club and handed him off to their coworkers outside.
“The men removed his belt and started searching his pockets. In the footage, there was a vehicle parked on the left-hand side of the main entrance,” the father noted.
He claimed that his son was bundled into the vehicle registered under plate number KBQ ***X, which he tried to track down unsuccessfully.
Julius insisted that the seven friends who invited his son to the party had questions to answer about the disappearance.
“Those who were with him remained with ID card and phone and did not follow up even when my son was thrown out of the club,” he alleged.
While looking for his son, a lead popped up on April 10, when an unidentified body was found in the club’s septic tank.
Unfortunately, the deceased was not his son. However, it left more questions about the management of the entertainment joint.
“The entry of the tank is sealed using a metallic chain fastened using a padlock and only the management has access to it,” Julius remarked.
Emmanuel’s family pleaded with the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Amin Mohammed to help them find their son.
Kajiado North County Commander Hussein Gura, 17 individuals were questioned to assist police with investigations.
