Hospital offers 370K cash reward for information on stolen Ambulance
Police are investigating the circumstances under which an ambulance was stolen in the Kibaale district.
It is alleged that an ambulance Toyota Landcruiser registration number UBB 655 K, white in color and branded with EMESCO Health Centre IV, was stolen in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to Albertine Region Police spokesperson Julius Hakiza Allan, ambulance driver Andrew Kasangaki parked the ambulance at his home after escorting his daughter to Karuguza Bus Park.
However, according to Hakiza, at about 6:00 a.m., Kasangaki’s wife discovered that the ambulance was missing from where it had been parked.
He said police detectives are doing everything possible to recover it.
“Our CCTV team has been informed of the blacklisting, so we are on the ground to see it recovered,” Hakiza said.
He made the comments at the regional police headquarters in Hoima City on Wednesday.
Hakiza appealed to the public to inform the police if they happened to see it.
The hospital is offering a reward of Shs.10,000,000 (Ksh.378,248) to anyone who can provide information leading to the recovery of their stolen ambulance.
