The petition to remove Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja from the election for governor due to the reliability of his academic publications has been rejected by the High Court.
The petitioner failed to carry the burden of demonstrating that Sakaja’s Team University diploma is a forgery, according to Justice Anthony Mrima, who also claims that the IEBC did not err in approving him.
The judge further asserts that the IEBC lacks the authority or mandate to check the validity of the documents presented by applicants.
