Edwin Sifuna Says He Will Leave Kenya, if Ruto Becomes President

In the event that William Ruto of the Kenya Kwanza Party wins the presidency, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has declared that he will leave the nation.

Because of his temper problems, according to Sifuna, Ruto is unfit to serve as a leader.

“Mimi nakuhakikishia Ruto akichanguliwa kama rais, hata huyu Sifuna nitatafuta nchi ya ng’ambo ya kujificha,” he told NTV.

The Nairobi senatorial candidate pleaded with Kenyans not to support a candidate whose campaign is motivated by retaliation.

“We must weigh in on the candidates. You should not vote for someone who is clearly looking to carry out revenge… I want to assure Kenyans, if you vote for an unworthy leader, we will all suffer.”

Sifuna commented on the ongoing verbal spat between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto, claiming that Ruto was merely upset with his boss for violating his promise to support him.

“You remember the reports that Uhuru was to support Ruto to get 10 years after his tenure. People disagree. In friendships and marriages. Relationships dissolve. Wewe ukiachwa achika!”

He expressed sadness that Ruto believed that almost slapping Uhuru was the best way to prevent him from resigning.

“The position of the presidency is a symbol of national unity. Not subject to be taken lightly and have threats made concerning the person who holds it,” he said.
