Digital content creator and scriptwriter Eddie Butita has made a bold prediction about societal trends, foreseeing a significant increase in the number of baby mamas and baby daddies in Kenya over the coming years.
Sharing his observations about modern relationships, Butita noted that a majority of young, unmarried women already have children, which he believes makes it challenging for men like him to find a wife.
He stated that in a random sample of 10 unmarried women, six already have children, two are pregnant, and the remaining two are likely to get pregnant soon.
“Wanaume mnafanya mbaya. I think out of 10 ladies, six wako na watoto, two wako na ball na hao two wengine ukizubaa zubaa kidogo utasikia wako na ball,” Butita commented.
The comedian urged men to slow down and leave some young women unattached, playfully lamenting that the trend is making it harder for him to settle down.
“Wanaume jamani hamtuachii hata zingine? Kunaendaje siku hizi? Karibu kila mtu ni mzazi, karibu kila mtu ni baby daddy, na karibu kila mtu ni baby mama,” he said with a mix of humor and frustration.

Butita also joked about the possibility of a legal clause allowing people to have children before marriage, suggesting the situation may have become normalized without many realizing it.
“Kwaniii… ama iko kwa constitution? Unajua hii kitu tulipitisha bila kusoma. I think in the next coming years, mtu atakuwa above 25 na si mzazi itakuwa ni ngumu. Si mnatuachia hata zingine,” Butita quipped, expressing his concerns about the societal shift.
Through his humorous observations, Eddie Butita shed light on a growing dynamic in relationships and family structures in Kenya today.
