Renowned stand-up comedian and digital content creator Eddie Butita has finally addressed questions about his dating life after persistent calls from fans urging him to get a girlfriend.
In an interview with SPM Buzz, Butita revealed that he is currently in a romantic relationship. However, he shared that his partner has strictly requested to stay out of the limelight.
Butita disclosed, emphasizing that his girlfriend dislikes publicity and has forbidden him from sharing her photos on social media platforms.
“Niko na dem, mimi niko na dem, mimi nakakuwa single? Dem yangu hapendi publicity hataki ni mpost,”
A Relationship Grounded in Understanding
Despite being a public figure, Butita says his girlfriend is understanding and doesn’t mind the occasional photos he shares with female friends.
“Those are friends, and my girlfriend is accommodating; she tells me, ‘Hang out with girls so that you can understand me,’” he explained, clarifying that his social media posts don’t interfere with their relationship.
This is the first time Butita has spoken about his love life since his highly publicized breakup with fellow comedian and content creator Eunice Wanjiku Njoki, popularly known as Mammito, in November 2022.

Butita’s fans have consistently teased him about finding a wife, especially when he spends time with his close friends Abel Mutua and Timothy Kimani (Njugush), who are happily married to their spouses Cele and Judy.
On October 23, 2024, the SPM Buzz CEO even made a lighthearted request to his comedian friend Oliver Otieno, alias YY, after YY shared a video of his formal introduction ceremony with his girlfriend Noela’s parents.
“YY, teach me these things,”
Butita joked, referring to YY’s success in the dating scene and his ability to maintain a happy relationship.

While fans remain curious about the identity of Butita’s mystery girlfriend, the comedian has chosen to keep his relationship private, respecting his partner’s preference to avoid the public eye.
