There was drama outside the Machakos law courts after a woman started bleating like a goat ahead of a court hearing.
The woman, who is a suspect in the murder of her child, had attended the mention of the case where she was to testify.
Before the case began, she started bleating, causing a big crowd to gather outside the court. The bleating attracted many onlookers who were passing by at the court who said they had never seen anything like this.

Judge Margaret Muigai went on to issue a warrant of arrest for the suspect as she had not shown up in court.
Later in the afternoon, the judge lifted the warrant after learning about the woman’s plight when her husband appeared in court and asked for leniency to take the woman to the hospital.
The husband said she suffered from a mental problem.
According to the case file, the woman, Mary Mukulu Mbithi from Mbee village in Kathiani subcounty, strangled her daughter to death on 20th January 2022.
She had been out on a personal bond of KES 500,000. The case was rescheduled to April 27, 2023.
