Comedian and content Dr. Ofweneke has revealed why he does not post his family online as is a trend with many celebrities in Kenya.
Speaking to Miss Kithinji of SPM Buzz at Akothee’s book launch where he was hosting, Dr. Ofweneke claimed that his family, particularly his marriage, is his private life and she should not be forced to share with the public.
He said that people should only concentrate about Dr. Ofweneke the artists because it is the only part that he shared willingly.
“I have been very keen in telling bloggers that I do not need to talk about my personal life. I gave you guys Dr. Ofweneke. That is the person you ask about. Where is my next show, what I am doing next? That should be a point of focus, and not about children and wife.” he said.
He went on to blast people who feel entiled about information regarding his family that they did not help him to wooing his wife.
“I did not call you guys when I wooing my wife. So I do not feel that I should also explain to you guys about my marriage whether things are okay or not,” said Dr. Ofweneke.
According to Dr. Ofweneke, the media is at fault of painting a negative image that marriages do not work. He argued that the media is a tool but it has been used negatively against marriages as it only focuses on marriages when the people involved are facing problems.
“We only give celebrity marriages when there is an issue. Why are we not celebrating marriages that are successful? Why are spreading the narrative that marriages are not working in our generation?” Reasoned Dr. Ofweneke.
Apparently, Dr. Ofweneke is not the only celebrity that feels that family is a private affair.
Other celebrities who have been keen about keeping their families out of the public eye include Jalang’o, Sarah Hassan and Jackie Vike, who, at any cost, avoid posting their children.
