Raila Odinga’s lawyer Donald Kipkorir has demanded the ouster of 4 Azimio Secretariat campaign team members.
Junet Mohamed, a representative for Suna East, and Saitabao Ole Kanchory, Raila’s principal agent, should step down from their positions in the campaign secretariat, according to Kipkorir.
He added George Njoroge, a specialist in information technology, and Elizabeth Meyo, the campaign’s chief executive officer, as more individuals who allegedly botched Raila’s operations.
“Before Monday, September 5, the following have to resign from being part of Baba’s Campaign Team: Elizabeth Meyo, George Njoroge, Junet Mohammed and Saitabao Ole Kanchory. We will rebuild Baba’s Campaign Secretariat afresh & with true & honest soldiers,” Kipkorir tweeted.
Saitabao Kanchory responded saying:
“Thank you for hiring yourself & firing me & others with neither the power nor the capacity.”
Prior to the General Election on August 9, Junet was a loud foot soldier in Raila’s camp. On the campaign trail, he frequently traveled with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader.
The politician frequently appeared at Azimio’s rallies and even served as the master of ceremonies.
However, he has been MIA ever since Wafula Chebukati, the head of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), ruled that Raila finished second in the close 2022 presidential contest.
The MP purposefully abstained when the recurrent contender for president presented the Supreme Court with evidence that claimed his victory had been stolen.
On Raila’s presidential election petition, which the Supreme Court heard, he has not yet made any public remarks. He was accused of allegedly wasting money by some of Raila’s allies.
