Doctor who was travelling to pick county job appointment letter among 34 Nithi bridge victims
A family in Kilifi is mourning the sudden death of their daughter, Dr Mary Mwandisha, who was among the 33 victims wo died in the Modern Coast Bus accident that happened at Nithi Bridge on Sunday.
According to reports, the doctor had just clinched a county job in Taita-Taveta and was on her way to pick the appointment letter, after a successful interview.
The 29-year-old Mwandisha, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the University of Nairobi in 2020, and was on her way to Taita-Taveta to pick up her appointment letter after a successful interview for a doctor post in the county.
Prior to her promising job, the deceased had worked for three months at Lifetime Hospital in Meru County on a contract basis.
It is reported that, Mary, the fourth born in a family of five, had just secured a permanent job after several attempts before her untimely death.
According to her brother, Medline Mwandisha, her family learned about her death after confirming with the Modern Coast booking office in Kilifi.
Medline said that her phone wasn’t going through and she had reported to her mother the sister was travelling using Modern Coast bus before she left Meru.
