The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) investigations have revealed that Geoffery Mwathi, also known as Jeff, was murdered.
Investigators have disproven earlier claims that Jeff committed suicide on the day he went to the Kasarani home of Lawrence Njuguna, also known as DJ Fatxo.
According to Citizen TV, the 23-year-old was killed at the home before being thrown from the rooftop of the home where DJ Fatxo dwells, according to evidence gathered by the police.
The sleuth’s early assessment indicated that at least five people may have been engaged in a fight that occurred in DJ Fatxo’s home.
The Director of Public Prosecutions’ direction will be based on the next stage of the DCI’s work, according to their progress report (DPP).
The sleuths announced that people of interest would be questioned in an effort to unravel the mystery surrounding Mwathi’s passing.
Kenyans have been encouraged to exercise patience until the investigations pick up steam and let the experts do the business.
“We are now progressing to the second phase of the investigations where several persons of interest in the case will be interrogated and appropriate recommendations made before being forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for action,” stated the DCI.
In a related event, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the Redwood Apartments’ almost last moments has surfaced.
The video, which was posted on Facebook on March 16 by blogger Simon Muthiora, depicts Mwathi exiting the elevator with four other persons.
The group is thought to be making their way to DJ Fatxo’s residence on the tenth level of the building as they pass a set of stairs.
Three women are also seen, along with a person who is thought to be Fatxo and who is wearing a white cap and t-shirt.
