Citizen TV journalists were on Monday attacked while covering mass protests in Kibera.
Confirming the incident, the TV station said that the journalists were also robbed by knife-wielding gang.
“Citizen TV journalists attacked, robbed by knife-wielding gang in Kibra as they covered the Monday protests. Vehicle damaged #Maandamano,” Citizen TV stated.
Reports indicate that reporter Seth Olale and his colleagues were caught in the middle of the clash between the police and the protestors.

John-Allan Namu has confirmed that two journalists from Africa Uncensored, a media house he runs, were arrested while covering protests in Mathare.
“Our Africa Uncensored journalists, Calvin Rock and Clint Obere have been arrested by police while covering protests in Mathare. We aren’t sure where they are being taken at the moment. This is uncalled for, an affront to our freedom to do our jobs. They need to be released now,” he demanded.
