The beautiful William Ruto’s souse and First Lady Rachel Ruto looking younger in a school uniform have resurfaced.
The images captured in 2017 depicted her wearing a maroon and white outfit with socks.
With her short hair, Rachel could easily be mistaken for one of the students as she mingled with excited schoolgirls, planted a tree at the institution and laid the foundation block for a new building.
In the caption, Rachel disclosed that she visited Butere Girls High School with fellow alumnae to mentor the students.
“Joined fellow alumnae for a mentorship weekend at Butere Girls High School, Kakamega County.”
However, Rachel’s first photo interacting with the institution, whose motto is For Only the Best, was in 2014.
She had travelled to Siaya to launch a table banking programme when she met students from her alma mater. They delightfully posed for photos with the then second lady.

Two years later, Rachel and the school’s alumnae came to the rescue of a needy girl. She handed Melvian Akumu a school fees cheque, books and personal effects courtesy of the alumnae.
Rachel’s involvement with Butere Girls continued in 2016 when she received textbooks donated by the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.
Rachel visited the school twice in 2016, the first time for a Sunday service. Ruto accompanied her during her second visit to launch a mentorship programme.
Her second last post from the school was in 2016, when Rachel shared images of speaking at a fundraising dinner aimed to support a programme at the school.
The expansive Butere school is among the most prestigious girl schools in the region while expressing pride in having passed through it.
“Aside from education, we were known for our forays in drama, dance and other extracurricular activities.”
The school boasts of notable alumnae, including the first Kenyan judge at The Hague, Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch, Kenya’s first female High Court judge Lady Justice Effie Owuor.
Makini schools founder Mary Okello, Kenya’s first female bank manager and flamboyant late ambassador Orie Rogo Manduli attended the school.
The first woman MP from Western Kenya, Prof Julia Ojiambo, also studied at Butere Girls.
