Just few days ago, she emerged as the MTN’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Year across 20 countries.

She received the award during MTN’s gala dinner in South Africa on February 5.

The company which operates in 20 countries congratulated the CEO for her exceptional leadership.

Sylvia Mulinge’s journey

Her journey began in the fast-moving consumer goods sector before she transitioned into telecommunications, where she has held senior leadership roles for the past 15 years.

Prior to her tenure at MTN Uganda, she served as Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC in Kenya, where she played a pivotal role in shaping consumer strategy.

Beyond her executive role, Sylvia is a leader committed to fostering growth and innovation. She serves as the Chair of the MTN Mobile Money Uganda Limited Board and the Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association in Kenya.

Additionally, she is a board member for esteemed organizations such as The President’s Award – Kenya, a leading youth empowerment initiative.
