Bomet County Woman Representative Linet Chepkorir ‘Toto’ has appreciated a bodaboda rider who facilitated her movement during the 2022 campaign period.
Toto, a 24-year-old political candidate who was one of the youngest in the August elections, made headlines when she easily defeated her opponents for the political seat and continues to be remembered whenever someone mentions a “grass to grace” tale.
Since claiming victory, the little-known Chuka University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business administration has been praising everyone who helped her get there and shaking hands with everyone she has encountered because of her innate humility.

On Tuesday, Toto praised her “driving” on the campaign trail, Gideon Cheruyiot, on social media, praising him for his loyal support during the entire time.
“On this day, allow me to thank my “driver” Gideon Cheruyiot who dedicated his time to carry me around in his Bodaboda, which was my official vehicle. Because of his passion, I was able to go to all meetings safely and on time. God bless you Gideon,” she said in a tweet.
As opposed to her competitors who traversed the five sub-counties of Bomet with fuel-guzzling vehicles, Toto mainly used motorcycles, walked to campaign venues, markets, funerals, and churches, and later got vehicles donated and fuelled by well-wishers.
Friends and foes have also been making incessant visits to her home in the village of Chemamul in Bomet East Sub County to congratulate her.
