“Nimewaachia Mungu!” – Billy Mwangi Says He Has Forgiven His Abductors
Billy Mwangi, one of the individuals who was reportedly abducted last December, has chosen forgiveness over retribution, vowing to leave the matter in God’s hands.
Mwangi, who was allegedly abducted on December 21, 2024, and later found alive on Monday in Embu County, expressed gratitude for his safe return and reflected on his ordeal.
Speaking on Tuesday, he revealed the mental anguish he endured during his disappearance, which left him disoriented and unable to recognize his surroundings.
“I thank God for my family, Embu residents and X family, those who abducted and put me in that situation. My parents know that I do not have a criminal record, I want to forgive them, I leave them to God. Human is to error,” he said.
Mentally Tortured but Forgiving
Mwangi described his abduction as a harrowing experience that caused immense psychological trauma.
Despite the ordeal, he emphasized his faith and belief in forgiveness, choosing to move forward without holding resentment against those responsible.
“I have forgotten all that happened. I leave everything to God,” he added.
Social Media Accounts Hacked
Mwangi also disclosed that his X (formerly Twitter) account had been hacked during his abduction. He no longer has control over his social media accounts and warned the public about any activity associated with his hacked profiles.
Other Abduction Cases
Mwangi is among several individuals whose disappearances sparked nationwide concern and calls for action from leaders and activists.
On Monday, Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli, cartoonist Kibet Bull, and his brother Rony Kiplangat were also found alive.
Their safe return followed sustained pressure from social media users, civil society, and some political leaders demanding accountability and justice.
The wave of abductions has raised questions about personal security in the country, with the victims’ experiences shedding light on the need for thorough investigations and reforms.
As the cases continue to draw public attention, Mwangi’s decision to forgive serves as a poignant reminder of resilience and faith in the face of adversity.
