The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has cautioned Kenyans to be on the lookout as heavy rains are expected.
In a statement, the weatherman said heavy rainfall will be experienced in the Southern, Central and Western parts of the country.
Some of the areas expected to be affected, according to the weatherman, include; Nairobi, Narok, Kajiado, Bomet, Kericho, Nakuru, Migori, Nyamira, Kisii, Homa Bay, Kisumu and Siaya.
Others include Busia, West Pokot, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Kakamega and Elgeyo Marakwet.
Destruction of property
According to the weatherman, rainfall will intensify on Wednesday through to Friday before likely decreasing on Saturday.
Flash floods have displaced at least 1,000 people in Nyando, Kisumu County after River Nyando burst its banks.
Residents said the floods, spread into the villages and marooned houses, causing massive destruction of property.
Government spokesman Cyrus Oguna on Tuesday said bout 300,000 people have been affected by the ongoing heavy rains.
According to the government,17,000 displaced, 132 lives lost and 11,000 livestock swept away and crops of unknown value destroyed.
