Azimio Plane Involved in an Accident in Lodwar
An airplane carrying a group of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party politicians veered off the runway as it was taking off at the Kakuma Airstrip in Lodwar.
The incident took place on Wednesday, July 20, in the late afternoon when a tire burst caused the plane to malfunction and cause it to swerve off the runway.
According to reports, the group did not include former prime minister Raila Odinga, who is running for president in the general election scheduled for August 9.
The group had gone to the town in the north to participate in a rally.
The airplane was one of three transporting Azimio lawmakers to the western party of the vast Turkana county for a rally.
George Onyango, the Kakuma OCS, acknowledged the occurrence and noted that nobody was wounded.
