Pastor Ezekiel’s lawyers said that the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) raided the New Life Centre and Church, stealing artifacts such as handkerchiefs and holy water used to perform miracles.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s lawyers reported on Saturday, May 27 that on Tuesday, ATPU officers went to New Life Centre and Church and removed many items, including communication devices, holy water, handkerchiefs, and computer drives.
Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omari, the pastor’s legal team’s leaders, revealed that the cops stated they needed to evaluate them as part of ongoing investigations.
“Officers from ATPU came to church on Tuesday and took communication items, computer drives, holy water, and handkerchiefs, explaining that it was for purposes of expert analysis,” Ombeta explained.
His legal battle and run-ins with the police have caused his church’s activities to be disrupted, with the preacher saying that he lost more than Sh20 million in a couple of hours on one Sunday.
The clergyman explained to his lawyers that on May 7, police forced their way inside the church and made it difficult for attendees to congregate, causing the pastor to lose millions.
The pastor’s church in Mavueni had a heavy police presence, with routes leading to the facility closed.
“It is regretted that on the Sunday of 7th May 2023 your officers forcefully entered into our client’s church while other of your officers barricaded the entrance leading to the church effectively making it impossible for worshippers and believers to congregate for their Sunday service,” reads part of the letter addressed to IG Koome reads.
Sh2 million was wasted in planned accommodation charges for a portion of the congregation that was to be lodged at the hotel on the site.
Pastor Ezekiel was detained last month after investigations linked him to Paul Mackenzi, the prime suspect in the Shakahola massacre.
