Martha Karua, the vice presidential candidate for Azimio, reprimanded Deputy President William Ruto Wednesday for “disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta,” claiming that resentment would not get him into State House.
Their rivals, according to Ms. Karua, were enraged and had started hitting them every day.
“Some of them are full of anger and they want to be elected. Let someone go and tell them that Kenyans are more angry because of the cost of living,” she said.
Karua urged Nairobi citizens to support Raila Odinga, claiming that Raila’s administration will keep them secure.
She pleaded with ladies to support her.
“This is the closest as women we have gotten to the presidency. Even when I vied it was not this close. So as you see me, know we are in government and we will walk close with you,” she said
Karua further encouraged Kenyans not to base their vote on hollow promises when casting a ballot.
She emphasized that Kenyans should pay attention to the track records of the candidates for president and that Azimio’s administration is the only one that can bring about change because, among other things, it will fight corruption.
According to Ms. Karua, the Azimio team has shown Kenyans that they are capable, moral, and trustworthy leaders.
