Embattled Kenyan Lawyer Miguna Miguna is still a registered voter in Kenya despite the stalemate surrounding his Citizenship.
In a social media post, the lawyer said that he visited an IEBC mobile station in Toronto, Canada, where he verified his data on the system.
“Today, I attended at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC)’s Mobile Station in Toronto and made sure I am on the Voters’ Register,” he said.
His confirmation comes even as it remains unclear whether he will be allowed to cast his vote in the August 9, elections following his forced exile.
Miguna, who vied for the Nairobi Governor seat, in 2017 was bundled out of the country in 2018 in dramatic events that have seen him exiled to date.
His numerous attempts to gain entry to the country have been met with numerous travel alerts issued against him forcing international airlines to block him from boarding their planes.
The Kenyan courts have numerously ruled in his favour but the state has been adamant in granting him entry and has instead maintained that Miguna should apply for his Citizenship afresh.
Miguna has however refused to do so saying he can’t apply for citizenship afresh yet he didn’t lose it.
