Esther Akoth, better known by her stage as Akothee, has made her rate card public, showing that she costs Sh2.3 million each performance.
The Abebo hitmaker claimed in an interview with host Ali that she always adds value to any event or concert she is booked for – hence the Sh2.3 million rate card.
“Right now my rate-card is $20,000 (Sh2, 352, 000). Its value for money, I bring value. I think I’m the number one earning artiste in Kenya right now,” Akothee said.
For the previous few years, Akothee has been the sole Kenyan musician to perform at One Music Africa Festival, one of the world’s most prestigious music festivals.
The singer also announced that she and Nelly Oaks are no longer together.
“I will never announce a breakup if I have not walked through it. In a breakup everybody is hurt and a lot of people are struggling in relationships even the biggest of the biggest celebrities.
“Relationships is not something you can ignore because its matter of the heart…
according to me I had walked out of the relationship in December. So right now I’m single,” Akothee said.
